This year’s action-oriented conference is all about promoting the best possible health and wellbeing for everyone in Ontario through the Public Health and Primary Health Care system working better together.

It will include inspiring presentations, panel discussions, learning and networking sessions that will enable both sectors to learn from each other and share best collaborative practices on shared priorities. Click here to download the full conference program.

The conference is presented by the Association of Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa) and the Association of Ontario Health Centres (AOHC) together with: the Ontario Public Health Association, Association of Family Health Teams of Ontario, Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario, Ontario College of Family Physicians, Association of Ontario Midwives and Health Nexus.  Public Health Ontario and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care are also contributing.

NOTE: This conference is accredited by the University of Toronto to provide continuing medical education credits for members of the College of Family Physicians of Canada Mainpro-M1 and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Section 1.

  • For the first time

    For the first time, Public Health and Primary Health Care will be hosting a joint conference focused on the shared vision of promoting the best possible health and wellbeing for everyone living in Ontario.
    Join us!

  • Conference Themes

    The conference has three overarching themes:

    1. Best Practices for Keeping People Healthy,
    2. Working Upstream to Promote Community Health and Wellbeing, and
    3. Increasing the effectiveness and sustainability of partnerships between the practitioners in the Primary Health Care and Public Health sectors.

    The conference will also have a special focus on the provincial Action Plan for Health Care and the Public Health Sector’s new strategic plan Make No Little Plans and will explore immediate opportunities for collaboration in order to prevent more so we can treat less.
